Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye has hinted that he could be tempted by a January move to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Magpies playmaker has been heavily linked with transfers away from St James’ Park for some time, with both Arsenal and Liverpool thought to be particularly keen.

PSG are also in the race, with the nouveau riche French outfit keen to snap up some of France’s top names to compliment their growing list of global stars.

Cabaye revealed he is happy at on Tyneside this term after a relegation-threatened 2012/13 season, but he also left the door ajar for a move to PSG.

“I know that in January the rumours will start all over again. I’d like to know who does not want to play for Paris Saint-Germain today?” Cabaye told The Metro.

“I feel great, confident, especially compared to last season.

“It was the first time in my career I played [to avoid] relegation.

“This season we are well placed, we have taken points. I feel very good, I want it to be a big season, to try to finish as high as possible while thinking about the World Cup next summer.”

Arsenal had a £10m move for Cabaye thwarted over the summer, but PSG are believed to be confident that Newcastle will be more open to doing business with a foreign side than a domestic rival.

Liverpool are also watching, but a lack of European football at Anfield may rule them out.
