Newcastle ace wants regular first team football
Newcastle winger Sylvain Marveaux has declared his desire to force his way into the club’s starting XI.
He was glad to make onto onto the field of play and hopes that manager Alan Pardew will give him more opportunities.
“I was fit all season, but I was waiting for my time,” he told The Chronicle.
“I hope I will be able to play the next game against Fulham as well.
“I was in a good position on the pitch – my favourite – and I just tried to play my game. But it was just one game. We’ll see now. I’m just looking forward to the next game.
“I haven’t played a lot of games in the Premier League, and I was just waiting for my time. I just want to build on it.”
Marveaux signed for the North East club in 2011 from Ligue 1 outfit Rennes.
It was reported that Liverpool were initially set to sign the wide-man, but the Merseysiders pulled out of a deal due concerns over his injury record.
