Newcastle United’s director of football Joe Kinnear has dismissed the chance of the Toon making many moves in the January transfer window, as reported by Sky Sports.

Boss Alan Pardew made a number of singings last winter and has been told that he will not have the funds to do the same this year.

Pardew had next to funding in the summer either, with loan boy Loic Remy the only real addition to the first team squad and even a permanent deal for the Frenchman and top scorer is looking doubtful.

The Newcastle fans were protesting about Kinnear’s appointment and more unrest will be caused by his latest comments, claiming that January deals are unlikely to be done.

“Given the business we did last January and with the addition of Loic in the summer, it is our belief that we now have a squad that, in terms of quality and quantity, is stronger than we had in the season,” Kinnear said.

“We finished fifth, and should enable the manager to deal with every reasonable eventuality.

“We will not be rushed or forced into making knee-jerk decisions, which experience tells us more often than not turn out to be costly mistakes.”
