Newcastle are at the front of a lengthy queue for Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha’s signature in January, according to reports from The Telegraph.

The England international looks set to leave the Red Devils on loan next month having struggling to force his way into David Moyes’ first-team plans after completing his move to the club from Crystal Palace, and is attracting attention from Everton, Stoke, West Ham, West Brom, Swansea, Cardiff and Aston Villa.

However it is the Magpies who are thought to be out in front, with United aware of the Tyne club’s fixture list.

Newcastle are due to take on the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea in the New Year, and Moyes is hopeful that his man can help them take points off of their rivals to get his side back into the title race – mirroring the impact Romelu Lukaku has had for Chelsea.

Zaha himself is thought to be keen to a loan switch, with regular playing time likely to give him an outside chance of making England’s World Cup squad.

One potential stumbling block could be the youngster’s £35,000-per-week earnings, with United looking for any club that takes him to pay the full sum.
