Europa League tie at Bordeaux.

Victory over the French Ligue 1 side would see the Magpies finish unbeaten atop Group D and leapfrogging Bordeaux. It will also mean that Pardew’s men will be awarded an easier route through the competition in the knockout draw. A second place finish in Group D on the other hand, could set Newcastle up for a tie against a Champions League drop-out. However this appears not to concern Pardew and his willingness to change up his team.

With as many as six young graduates potentially donning the black and white shirt in the south-west of France tonight, Pardew will be looking to rest a host of senior players before their Premier League game on Monday at Fulham’s Craven Cottage.

The senior players left home are Demba Ba, Cheik Tioté and Davide Santon who all suffered slight knocks during their 3-0 victory over Wigan on Monday.

Accordingly, reserve players Yven Moyo and Conor Newton, who have yet to make their debuts, both step up. However, Spanish striker Xisco – one of the club’s top earners – was also excluded from European duty.

Likely first team regulars to be named on the bench will be Tim Krul, Fabricio Coloccini and Papiss Cissé. Meanwhile Nile Ranger – who is gaining a reputation for his troubles off the field – could feature in attack.
