Stoke City.

The Magpies have not won in 5 Premier League games and it has caused reason for concern on Tyneside with supporters frustrated as the slide lie perilously close to the relegation zone.

Last night’s defeat being particularly painful with the side 1-0 up with 10 minutes to go before conceding two last gasp finishes to Walters and Jerome at the Britannia Stadium.

Tiote was able to see the positives in the display, as there were signs that the team is improving and finally starting to turn the corner from their bad form. He was happy with the display his teammates put in.

He told the club’s official club website “This was so difficult for the team to take.

“We played well and were the better team on the pitch. We tried to pass the ball well and scored the first goal, but after that we were unlucky because it was two sloppy goals that cost us the game.

“Everyone is very disappointed, but we were much brighter than we have been recently and had more energy on the pitch.

“If you play well like we did, then you expect to win the game, so if we continue to play like this, we will get three points again very soon.”

Newcastle’s next Premier League fixture on Monday is at St James’s Park where they will welcome visitors Wigan Athletic.
