The Mirror.

The Canaries are desperate to add a front-man to their squad having netted just 24 times in the Premier League so far this season.

They were heavily linked with Celtic’s Hooper, but having had two bid rejected it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to match the Bhoys’ demands.

This has led to speculation that Becchio could be the man they turn to.

The Argentine submitted a transfer request to the Championship club recently, in a bid to secure a dream move to the top flight.

Norwich are willing to part with £3.5m to secure a deal, as well as allowing Steve Morison to go to Elland Road.

It is unclear as to whether Leeds will accept this offer, but with Becchio unsettled they could be tempted to do a quick deal.

Hughton is also targeting defensive additions ahead of Thursday’s deadline and has set his sights on Birmingham centre-back Curtis Davies.

He hopes to take advantage of the Blues’ current financial difficulties to conclude a cut-price £1m move.

They may face competition from Reading, with Brian McDermott keen to bring in fresh faces in a bid to avoid relegation.
