The Uruguayan is one of the most sought after strikers in European football, with his prolific goalscoring record attracting the attention of almost all of the continent’s elite clubs.

Reports have emerged that City are tracking the front-man, whilst rumours continue to circulate that the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool may swoop in the future.

However, the Citizens may face a real fight, with PSG entering the race for his signature.

The Ligue 1 club are one of the richest outfits in world football, with considerable backing from their Qatari owners. They demonstrated their spending power last summer by bringing AC Milan duo Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the club for a combined fee of over £50m.

It appears they have now set their sights on Cavani and could launch a January bid to take him to the French capital.

Napoli are said to be demanding a fee of £45m, a figure that PSG could easily match.

It is unclear as to whether the 25-year-old would be willing to move to the Parc des Princes, however they will be able to offer him a lucrative deal to so.
