Premier League at the end of the season.

The Swedish star is widely thought of as one of the very best players on the planet, and has been in excellent form this term.

But, rumours have been circulating that he is unhappy in the French capital following the arrival of Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayan was thought to be seen as a direct threat to his status as PSG’s talisman by the 32-year-old, who has been the Parisians’ marquee name since his arrival in 2012.

But, ‘Ibra’ says that he has been given assurances regarding his role, and that he is content at the Parc des Princes.

“In June, I didn’t know if I would stay at PSG, but then I met with president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and he told me that I am the most important player for the PSG project,” he is quoted by The Express.

“You must take us to where we dream of going’. It was a nice thing to hear and then we made an agreement. I extended my contract for one more year and now I could not be happier than in Paris.

“Going to Paris a year ago was a risk, but I thought ‘PSG is the future’. Now, I know that I did well.”

Ibrahimovic has often been criticised by sections of the English media for a perceived inability to perform on the biggest stage.

However, his pedigree is undeniable with a medal collection including league titles in Italy, Spain, Holland and France.

Is it disappointing to hear that Zlatan Ibrahimovic may never play in England?
