QPR manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that Loic Remy is likely to leave Loftus Road on a permanent basis this summer, with Arsenal and Tottenham interested.

The France international has spent the current season on loan at Newcastle following the Super Hoops’ relegation to the second tier last term, and has been in impressive form for the midtable side, banging in 13 goals in all competitions.

Although the Magpies are desperate to keep him on a permanent basis, Arsenal and Spurs have been mooted as more likely destination for the 27-year-old, with the north London duo said to be interested.

There have been whispers to suggest that Remy may be kept at QPR if Redknapp can get his side back into the Premier League, but the experienced manager says that the in-form front-man is set for a big move once the season ends:

“Remy wants to play Champions League football next season.” He is quoted by The Express.

“The chances of us keeping him are not great if he’s got a buy-out clause.

“He’s done well at Newcastle, and one or two other big clubs are trying to get him, so there’s every chance he will go.”

Remy is rumoured to have a £10m release clause in his contract, and has already hinted that he is ready to play at the highest level next season.
