Hughes Takes The Blame For QPR Horror Show
Lots of Rangers fans were calling for Hughes’ head after the game as they saw their club drift further adrift at the foot of the table after accumulating just four points this season.
“I take it on the chin because I picked the players, it’s solely down to me and I need to find the right balance and the right type of players to get us out of this situation,” Hughes told talkSPORT.
“We started poorly. I talked at lengths this week about starting quickly and taking initiative in the game but we were unable to do that for whatever reason. We were too passive, we didn’t get up to the ball and we weren’t aggressive enough and allowed Southampton the time and space to play.
“Fans were absolutely within their rights to react how they did because that was exactly how I was reacting.
“We didn’t give the fans enough for them to get behind us today.
“We didn’t deserve anything from the game because were didn’t get anywhere near a Premier League performance.
“Today we’ve disappointed everybody connected to Queens Park Rangers, and that’s a bitter pill to take.”
