QPR boss Harry Redknapp is keen to set up a reunion with Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Lassana Diarra, according to reports from The Mirror.

The 29-year-old Frenchman played under ‘Arry at Portsmouth during the club’s successful period before moving on to join Real Madrid.

Since then he has switched to Russia, plying his trade for Anzhi Makhachkala and Lokomotiv, where he earns a staggering £80,000-per-week even though he is not seen as a key first-team player.

Diarra himself is thought to be keen to return to England – where he also played for both Arsenal and Chelsea – with QPR an option.

However, the classy enforcer will have to take an estimated 50% pay-cut to fit into the Super Hoops’ wage structure.

Redknapp is thought to be desperate to get his former star to Loftus Road, with his experience and quality seen as useful tools as he plots to keep the Londoners in the Premier League.

Diarra only switched to Moscow last year as Anzhi entered a period of financial difficulty.
