QPR are ready to hand Leroy Fer a Premier League lifeline, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Holland international – who netted for his country at the World Cup – was snapped up by Norwich last year, but despite his pedigree he was unable to help he Canaries avoid the drop to the Championship.

The East Anglians are aware that they will have to sell big name players as the financial realities of Championship football hit home, but are still set to demand close to £8m for the rangy midfielder.

But this has not put off QPR, who are plotting for top tier life after leaping above Norwich in the Football League ladder.

Harry Redknapp is keen to bolster his central ranks, and is thought to see Fer as a good option.

The 24-year-old is also attracting attention from Southampton, but their interest hinges on the future of Morgan Schneiderlin – who is wanted by Tottenham and Arsenal.

Despite his club woes, Fer was a part of Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands squad at the World Cup, where he netted a goal in the group stage against Chile as the Oranje went on to claim third place with a play-off win over hosts Brazil.
