QPR manager Harry Redknapp wants to set up a reunion with Rafael van der Vaart at Loftus Road, according to reports from The Mirror.

The silky Dutch playmaker was one of ‘Arry’s star men at Tottenham, with his classy displays helping Spurs to enjoy their most successful era in recent history.

The now 31-year-old left White Hart Lane two years ago to return to Hamburg and Redknapp is confident that HSV’s recent struggles will allow him to snap up his former star.

Although his fitness has been a problem over the years, van der Vaart is considered to be a top playmaker with the vison and technique to open up tight defences.

As well as the midfielder, Redknapp wants a host of other players he coached at Tottenham.

QPR have recently lost a lot of names, which has led to talk that deals will be done before the season starts.

Peter Crouch and Kyle Naughton are two players in the mix, while there has been talk of a swoop for Michael Dawson.

As well as Spurs old boys, Watford’s Troy Deeney is another mooted target for the Super Hoops.
