Reading star unsure of future
Reading’s Jay Tabb confessed that he unsure if he will still be at the club next season.
The midfielder was part of the Royals’ promotion winning team of last term and has kept his place within the first-team for much of this season’s Premier League campaign.
However, his contract is set to expire at the end of the campaign, leading to speculation that he may be allowed to leave the Madejski Stadium next summer
Tabb hopes that he can stay at the club, but admitted that there have been no discussions regarding a new deal:
“Talk of a contract being offered is news to me, nothing has been said or offered yet.” He is quoted by talkSPORT.
“I love the club and want to stay but my contract is up in six months and I am not really sure what’s happening.
“All I can and will do is keep giving my all when given the opportunity and then we’ll see what happens.”
As well as Tabb, the likes of Noel Hunt and Nicky Shorey’s contracts at the club expire in six months’ time, but manager Brian McDermott believes that it is not an urgent issue:
“We haven’t spoke to any of the players yet,
“At some point the board will need to have conversations with the players.”
