Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has hinted that he is ready to follow Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana out of St Mary’s Stadium.

The Saints enjoyed an impressive 2013/14 under Mauricio Pochettino in which they secured a steady midtable finish, but have since lost their manager and found a number of their players attracting attention from bigger clubs.

Rickie Lambert completed his dream switch back to boyhood club Liverpool before the World Cup, while Luke Shaw sealed a £30m move to Manchester United on Friday.

Adam Lallana is also due to leave after travelling to Merseyside to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms, leaving the South Coast without three of their most influential players from last term.

Schneiderlin himself is thought to be on Arsenal’s radar after impressing in a holding midfield role which booked him a spot in France’s World Cup squad, and the 24-year-old says that he has “ambitions” that Southampton are aware of:

“I’m aware of Southampton’s situation. On a personal level the club know my position and know what I want to do. I had a good conversation with all the directors.” He is quoted by Goal.

“I’ve been there for a long time now. We’ll see how things go but the directors know my position and what my intentions are.

“Everyone has ambitions, everyone has his own future in his hands so we’ll see. Every player wants to play on big occasions.”
