Juventus are wanting to sign on loan Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo for half of the £12.8million the Saints paid for his services last summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 28-year-old has spent the second half of the season on loan at the Turin giants, who have an option to sign him on a permanent deal fro £15million at the end of the season.

Juventus have been impressed with the performances of the Italy striker and are keen to keep him, but insist the £15million fee is ‘impossible.’

Therefore the Serie A leaders are hoping they can strike a deal with Southampton that would see them pay a £7million fee – almost half of what they paid for his services last summer.

Argentine born striker Osvaldo joined the Saints in a £12.8million deal from Roma last summer, but endured an unhappy spell on the south coast.

He was eventually shipped out to Juventus in the January transfer window after a training ground bust up with teammate Jose Fonte, who he ended up headbutting – earning a hefty fine and suspension in the process.

Meanwhile, Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino says the future of Manchester United and Chelsea target Luke Shaw lies in the hands of the clubs owners.

“Shaw would need to speak with the club and the owner. He belongs to Southampton,” he said.
