Southampton are planning for the possible loss of star left-back Luke Shaw by eyeing up Nice’s Timothee Kolodziejczak, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Saints could be set to lose their teenage superstar this summer, with a host of top clubs monitoring his situation.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with the teenager, while Liverpool and Tottenham are also considered to be ready to pounce.

Even though the South Coast club are insistent that he will be staying, they are believed to be preparing for his potential exit.

One man they see as a good option to fill the potential void is Kolodziejczak.

The Frenchman is highly-rated in his homeland, and has been in terrific form for Nice since leaving Lyon in search of playing time during 2012.

The 22-year-old is valued at around £6m, which would barely make a dent in the possible £30m Southampton could receive for Shaw.

The Hampshire side may have to move quickly though, with the Ligue 1 giants rumoured to be willing to sell with a host of big teams all watching their youngster.
