Stoke striker nearing return
Stoke City striker Michael Owen has returned to full training and is nearing a return to first team action.
The former England striker has hinted that he could be available for the weekend’s game when Stoke host his former team Newcastle United on Wednesday night.
“I’m back in full training, Owen told Sky Sports.
“The physios and the medical team were up at the stadium for Saturday’s match. So I trained there.
“They made me run up every stairway at the ground. It was a hard old session.

The 32-year-old has only managed to feature in just 53 minutes of action since he signed for the Potters on a free transfer in the summer after leaving Manchester United.
Owen has struggled with injuries over the last few years, interrupting any opportunity for the striker to develop a run in the side. At Stoke he is hoping for one last chance to regularly score goals.
Tony Pulis has said that a return against Newcastle is an outside chance and will more than likely come against West Brom on Saturday.
