Danish starlet open to Premier League switch
FC Copenhagen striker Andreas Cornelius has opened the door for a move to the England, by declaring it would be a “dream” to play in the Premier League.
The 19-year-old Danish international is widely regarded as one of the finest emerging talents in his home country, and has reportedly attracted the interest of Sunderland.
14 goals this season at club level have seen a number of teams from across Europe begin to monitor the teenager, but he has declared that the Premier League is where he wants to play:
“I think that the Premier League is the best league in the world and I would love to play there,” he is quoted by Sky Sports via bold.dk.
“It would be like a dream coming true. But there is still a long way and I still have plenty to learn.”
With many clubs now opting to snap up the best talent from abroad early on, it is possible that Cornelius could be on the move at the end of the season.
But, the youngster is happy to stay in Copenhagen, although he confessed that his future plans are far from certain:
“I have a contract with Copenhagen for the next four years so that seems like a good timeframe for me, although things change quickly in football so you never know.”
Cornelius made his first-team debut for Copenhagen last year, but has already become one of the team’s prized assets.
