Crystal Palace and Swansea have made the first moves in the January race for Blackpool winger Tom Ince, according to reports from The Express.

The England U-21 star has long been linked with a Premier League switch, and was said to be close to both Liverpool and Tottenham over the summer before rejecting Cardiff.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, palace and Swansea have made enquiries regarding a January deal.

The pair have reportedly both contacted the Seasiders with a view to a cut-price move for the 21-year-old, and are hopeful that they can seal a deal in the coming weeks.

Blackpool are said to have offered their man a fresh contract to stay at Bloomfield Road, but Ince himself may be ready to make a move in order to further his career.

The 21-year-old could be an outsider to make Roy Hodgson’s Three Lions squad for the World Cup, but to do so he will need to be plying his trade in the top tier.

Swansea could be a more favourable destination for the former Liverpool trainee, but Palace boss Tony Pulis has a large budget as his disposal for the transfer window, and could tempt the talented wide man to move to London.
