Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis is adamant that he will not be forced into a summer move by his current employers.

The French international is believed to be on the verge of leaving the Ligue 1 giants this summer, with a host of clubs – including Swansea and Cardiff – thought to be keen.

One side said to be monitoring the situation are Shakhtar Donetsk, and Lyon recently hinted that a deal could be agreed with the Ukrainians soon.

But, the 27-year-old says that he will not be pushed into a decision and that his future will be his decision.

“I will choose where I play next season,” he told Sky Sports.

“It sounds like Lyon have already made their choice, but I haven’t.”

Lyon are thought to be keen to sell the striker, as they look to reduce their spending in order to cope with their financial difficulties.

Both Swansea and Cardiff are hopeful of taking advantage with this, with the duo in need of attacking reinforcements.

The Swans are about to embark on a Europa League campaign that may expose a lack of depth in their squad, while their regional rivals are desperate to maintain top flight status after winning promotion last season.

Where would be best for Bafetimbi Gomis: Swansea? Or Cardiff?

Swansea are a top team, so maybe, but Swansea dont splash the cash.
Hard to see him choosing Cardiff from the other names already mentioned, including Monaco? Unless he really wants to go the EPL, Cardiff agree to pay him a lot of money and that’s what motivates him…with all respects, he obviously has the talent to play for better teams that Cardiff?

bigger club ?both small club’s mate, i bet you have an 1.5 inch penis and brag to any one with a 1 inch penis , that you have a bigger penis, and before you ask i am a man utd fan and i have a 12 inch penis.and as for swan’s or cardiff i would also go with the swans. last year’s game at old trafford we beat them 2-1 and deserved to , but in the second half they played some excelent football – big fan base or not. and i would not have minded laudrup to replace sir alex (if he had more than a year doing what he is with the swan’s) but not malkey mkkay !

    @ James
“Swansea are a top team” and if an agreement was made then it’s obviously the best choice of the two Welsh teams.
“he obviously has the talent to play for better teams than Cardiff” Good luck Swans in Europe !
