Swansea head into their Europa League tie with Napoli as underdogs, but quietly confident of springing a surprise, reports the Telegraph.

Garry Monk’s side go into the game knowing a score draw will be enough to get them through to the last 16, having drawn 0-0 at the Liberty Stadium a week ago.

It would complete a remarkable rise for Monk, who made his debut for the Swans in a 2-0 defeat to Northampton at home in League Two.

“Of course you accept and understand where you came from,” he said on Wednesday. “We have to keep that, and as a city we’ll never forget that. But we have to keep pushing and pushing.

“I just think that as a club, we’re growing. We’ve made strides off the pitch in terms of training facilities and stuff like that. Being in the Premier League is crucial to that development.

“If you’re playing in competitions like this, you can attract better and better players. The mentality is the strongest thing you can have at a club. If you have the mentality right, then everything should follow.”

Napoli boss Rafael Benitez has warned his side must raise their game at home if they are to avoid an upset.

“We already saw that Swansea play great football,” Benitez said.

“We have to play as we know how, but we must increase the tempo. We have to be ready, we need to be clinical in attack and strong in defence. We need to impose our game.”
