Swansea winger Nathan Dyer believes that the club will be able to cope if Michael Laudrup leaves this summer.

The Danish coach has built upon the Swans’ successful form under his predecessor Brendan Rodgers this term, guiding the team to Capital One Cup victory over the weekend.

This flying start to Premier League life has seen him linked with Chelsea, Arsenal and even Real Madrid.

Dyer has seen a number of managers, including Rodgers, Roberto Martinez and Paulo Sousa, move on in his time at the Liberty Stadium, and believes that if Laudrup does move on they will continue to achieve:

“Yes, it’s about having the right manager, but at the end of the day we still have the players who can play football,” he is quoted by The Mirror.

“It’s not like just because we lose a manager we’re going to be fighting relegation. That makes no sense.

“Since I’ve been here the chairman has had four different managers. Each time one has left, he’s brought in the right guy every time.”

Dyer went on to say that he is not at all surprised by the attention his manager has attracted, and believes that he deserves the recognition:

“Of course it’s inevitable that the manager will attract attention and why not? It’s a fairytale for Swansea to have come from the lower divisions upwards.”

Club captain Garry Monk echoed Dyer’s thoughts, but revealed that he would rather see a summer of stability at the club and not have to cope with a change of manager:

“We’ve lost our managers for a number of years now and managed to bounce back,

“Hopefully, though, we won’t have to go through the same again because it’s important the club manages some longevity and continuity.”
