Ki Sung-Yeung is undergoing a scan today to assess a hamstring strain which Michael Laudrup believes will rule the South Korean out of two Swansea fixtures at least.

The midfielder suffered the injury in a tackle very near to the end of the Swans’ Premier League draw at Southampton, which finished 1-1.

Michael Laudrup thinks Sung-Yeung will not be able to play for around “10 to 14 days”.

Though it would be a big loss to the team, with Ki Sung-Yeung playing excellently at the weekend, Laudrup believes it is not too serious a situation.

He said: “Ki’s hamstring was the problem so he will go for a scan and then we will know more on Monday. Right now it looks as though we are talking about 10-14 days – something like that. It’s bad news, but it’s a part of football, when it is only one or two weeks it is not too bad. With the experiences we have had this season with long-term injuries to Neil Taylor and Kyle Bartley, it is not that much. It’s looking like maybe one or two games but we have to live with that. It gives chances to other people.”

The injury to Ki Sung-Yeung could see Michu move to a central midfield role for their next game, which is at Newcastle.

However, in better injury news for the club, Danny Graham, who had to sit out of the Southampton game due to a problem with his back, should be available to play Newcastle on Saturday.
