Tottenham debutant Eric Dier capped a dream debut with a 93rd minute winner for Mauricio Pochettino’s side against West Ham as both sides finished the game with 10 men.

West Ham had the upper hand for the majority of the game as Kyle Naughton conceded a penalty and saw red inside half an hour, only to see Mark Noble put his effort wide.

The Hammers were unable to capitalise as Spurs managed to keep the ball well, and they saw red themselves when James Collins was given a second yellow for pulling down Emmanuel Adebayor.

The finish was tense, with both Hugo Lloris and Adrian being forced into some good saves, but it was Tottenham who took home the three points as 20-year-old Dier raced through in the dying moments to coolly round the ‘keeper and slot the ball into an empty net.
