Andrey Arshavin’s recent cameo against Chelsea made the point clear that his career at Arsenal is as good as over. Had Arsene Wenger been able to look to a stronger bench, there was little chance Arshavin would have made an appearance.

He’s a player down on his luck but not yet running on empty. He played well for Russia during Euro 2012 and could still offer plenty to a team in need of a little imagination on the pitch.
