Given Manchester United’s continued unease between the sticks, their quest for a long-term number one has reportedly led them in the direction of Liverpool’s Pepe Reina. Which is funny because not only would a switch between the two clubs make the Spaniard’s life hell for the rest of his time in England, he’s also been remarkably inconsistent for over a good 12 months now.
While he remains a good goalkeeper, he’s appeared unable to prevent a string of mistakes from creeping into his game and considering the lofty amount of money it’d take to prise him away from Anfield, there is far better value to be had in the Premier League, let alone the rest of Europe.
