In 2010, Mauro Boselli arrived in Wigan boasting an impressive goalscoring record that looked certain to bring a touch of South American flair to the outskirts of Greater Manchester.
A beaming Roberto Martinez told the world: “He’s a goalscorer who lives to put the ball in the net.” Sadly this was not the case for the Latics, who reluctantly shipped out the Argentine forward on two lengthy loan spells before he finally scored in the 4-1 Capital One Cup rout against West Ham earlier in the season.
Despite this, Boselli is still waiting to open his account in the Premier League and is surely lingering by the exit at the DW Stadium.
