The Premier League is a difficult environment to adjust to for plenty of players and sometimes it takes them a while to settle in, find their natural position while dealing with the physical and mental demands of playing each and every week in one of the top domestic leagues in the world.

With that in mind, and keeping the Most Improved Player trophy, the one that everyone dreads at the end of the season at their Sunday clubs because it usually means that they were rubbish to start with, we propose putting a new, altogether more positive spin on proceedings; these ten players have always had talent, they’ve done well in the league before but this term they’ve really stepped up a gear and they deserve all the praise that comes their way.
