It’s worth remembering that the giant Everton forward struck eight league goals in his first league campaign in England back in 2008-9 from a much deeper role, and with eight goals in 18 appearances this time around, he looks well on course to beat his best tally so far.
Nevertheless, in a more advanced role, his physical threat has caused all sorts of problems and he’s at times dragged the side back into a match, with the game away at Craven Cottage against Fulham upon his return to injury sticking out.
In his past three seasons the 25-year-old in a much deeper, holding role struck just six goals but he’s been revolutionised in a much more attacking side than we’ve previously come to expect from David Moyes. A real handful.
