Cherno Samba is a football manager legend, largely because many in the footballing world anticipated great things for the former Millwall youngster, who was a regular throughout the Three Lion’s youth teams.
Samba’s recognition came from his incredible non-league record of 132 goals in 32 games playing for St. Joseph’s academy in Blackheath.
Millwall even once rejected a £2million bid from Liverpool for the striker, which in hindsight they surely wish they’d taken considering he never made a senior appearance for the London club.
Samba, instead of reaching greatness, has played for Cadiz, Plymouth Argyle and Wrexham to name a few, scoring just a single league goal during his career.
