1. Francis Jeffers – Everyone knows the story of Francis Jeffers these days, the man with all the promise back in the early 2000’s who went from hero to zero. His early career with Everton prompted Arsene Wenger to shell out £8 million for his signature (an achievement in itself), but he simply didn’t cut the mustard at Highbury. 22 games and just four goals later and Jeffers found himself back at Goodison Park on loan, before he was shipped off to Charlton permanently. His career has continued on a downward spiral even to this day, and despite the fact that he boasts one England cap complete with one England goal, he’s never delivered his potential as that fox in the box striker in the Gary Lineker mould.
