Most Villa fans and pundits are dismayed that Darren Bent has been recently dropped from the squad, despite the fact he is the Villans’ most likely goal threat.
Bought not long ago for £18million, it is clear the former England striker isn’t wanted by new Villa boss Paul Lambert, and therefore they should make sure they offload him in January instead of spending the second half of the season with Bent in footballing limbo and wasting away in the reserves.
Unfortunately, it is unlikely the Birmingham based club will get back what they paid for their outcasted forward as it’s hardly a secret they want to sell him, but any money they do get for Bent should be spent getting any extra quality Lambert can get his hands on into the starting XI.
Eredivisie top scorer Wilfried Bony is reportedly a Villa target, but Chelsea and Liverpool are also on the hunt for the Ivorian international who has been dubbed the next Didier Drogba.
