Andy Carroll has played well during his loan spell at West Ham, forming a solid partnership with fellow ex-Magpie Kevin Nolan.
But with just one Premier League goal to show for all his hard work since arriving at Upton Park, the England striker needs to impress in 2013 enough to find himself a new home. He’s clearly not in Brendan Rodgers’ plans, but it is difficult to imagine that at this point anyone will be willing to pay anywhere close to the £35million Liverpool bought him for unless he really ups his game.
Now the Hammers have Carlton Cole in good form, with Carroll sidelined through injury, the lanky striker has to earn his place back in the first team, and go on to prove his critics wrong unless he wants to spend another season in the Anfield wilderness, most probably being exiled to another club as they try to keep him off the wage bill.
