The £3.5m release clause in Mohamed Diame’s contract is such a bargain that manager Arsene Wenger, even by his thrifty standards, would be mad not to seriously consider it.
It’s become clear that the team lacks any sort of physical presence in the middle of the park and they struggle to put pressure on the ball against the top teams, but with Etienne Capoue and Florian Thauvin also both available, with their top four hopes hanging by a thread, they may regret not bolstering the starting eleven while they have the chance.
