Liverpool moved to within five points of the top of the Premier League with a thumping 5-1 victory over league leaders Arsenal at Anfield, suggesting it’s not just a top four finish they’re going for this season.

Four goals inside the opening 20 minutes stunned the Gunners as Brendan Rodgers’ side turned on the style to embarrass the visitors. Braces from Martin Skrtel and Raheem Sterling, as well as a Daniel Sturridge goal, saw off Arsenal who bagged a consolation through a Mikel Arteta penalty.

It was a performance worthy of a team challenging for the Premier League title, and Liverpool have enough about them to keep up with Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal.
