Fortune signed for Manchester United in 1999 and was made famous by failing to secure his own Premier League title winners’ medal for the three seasons in which the club won the crown while he was at the club because he failed to play enough games (10) to warrant one.
Despite showing promise, Fortune was mainly used in a squad rotation system during his Old Trafford career and was released by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2006.
Very short and mediocre spells with Bolton, Brescia, Tubize (Belgium) and Doncaster followed before he retired.
