Everton and Tottenham have been handed a boost in the race for Algerian World Cup star Yacine Brahimi, after the player himself hinted that he’s ready to join a big club.

The 24-year-old has been one of his nation’s top performers in Brazil, playing a big role in their memorable 4-2 win against South Korea.

Brahimi plies his trade in Spain with Granada after starting his career in Ligue 1 with Rennes, and has been highly-rated across Europe for some time.

On the back of his displays at the World Cup interest from Spurs and Everton, among others, is said to have increased, and the skilful star says that he would consider joining a bigger side after the competition:

“I learned from my time at Rennes and in the last two years I have grown and matured.” He is quoted by The Express.

“My goal is to go to a more upscale club but I still need to improve some things: my scoring, making assists and not just dribbling for the sake of dribbling.”

Brahimi has a release clause of £12m in his contract, but Granada may well accept lower bids for financial reasons.
