Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro has played down his argument with manager Tim Sherwood and expects to stay at the club despite interest from London rivals Arsenal, Express reports.

Spurs left Sandro out of their squad to face Fulham last weekend and the Brazilian went onto Twitter to explain he was “not injured.”

Sherwood, speaking after Spurs 3-1 win over the Cottagers, said: “He can tweet what he likes. When he shows me he is good enough he will get into the team. At the moment he isn’t.”

However Sandro, talking to the Brazilian media, responded: “I quietly received the news… I respect him, I have nothing against him, let him speak.

“I will continue working quietly, I’m a professional. I have to work. Everyone loves me at Tottenham, it is my home.”

The 25-year-old was also asked in regards to rumors that cross town rivals Arsenal were interested in his signature, but he played down any links.

“I’m happy here at Tottenham. If the rival supporters want me to go to their team, I think I’m doing a good job and being recognized,” he said.

Not only rivals, ours too. I just have to thank the fans of Tottenham, they are very dear to me. We have three games and need to work.”
