More than a little frustrating as so many fans predicted this happening at just the wrong time, yet our pleas fell on deaf ears. Money is oft quoted as the reason but we could have got 10 million for Siggy; a player who sits on the bench all the time – so the money excuse doesn’t really wash. So many good strikers have come and gone recently without us going for them, and we’re the team that really needs them; Berbatov, Remy, Ba, Negredo, Leandro, not to mention the bargains like Michu etc.
Can’t believe this situation is going to help us get CL which supposedly levy wants more than anything? Very lucky Togo lost yesterday or this whole crazy situation could have been a lot worse.
There are those who say levy is god but many of these people are just “yes men” frightened of creating waves, somehow feeling they’re having a go at the club! Just follow the logic and listen to the neutrals out there who can see this situation for what it is.
Avb is doing incredibly well with what he’s got; he’s given our team backbone but levy is NOT supporting him to the full, only partially. Don’t ask me why -regular CL football is a real possibility with this coach.
I just can’t understand it. The only solution that I can think of is that levy only likes spending big money on players that can multi-task ie. midfield/wing/behind striker, perhaps he can’t bring himself to spend big time on a player that can only play in one position? Yet berbatov was only 5 million? Weird, lets wait and see what happens and if we miss out on CL because of this maybe more Spurs fans will see sense. Next season might be too late because I’m sure Bale wants CL and he deserves it!
