Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor looks to set to come back into the Tottenham squad this weekend for their Premier League fixture against Wigan.

The former Manchester City marksman has been struggling with a back injury but his manager Andre Villas Boas confirmed that he will be available for selection, for the game at White Hart Lane this weekend.

The Spurs boss has called for the player to be patient in his return. It had been speculated that there was a rift between the player and manager but AVB was quick to also play this down.

However, it is clear that Jermain Defoe has left an impression on his manager with Adebayor not guaranteed a place in the starting XI.

AVB went on to tell ESPN : “Ade has returned to training and he will be available for the Wigan game.

“The trouble has been that he has not played so much this season, mainly because of injury. He missed six games for a period and then two more recently.

“Whenever he came on he did well and he wants to be part of the team, but Jermain Defoe is doing well. In nine Premier League games, he has five goals. This is the kind of goalscoring ability that you want for your team.”

Despite Adebayor maybe having to wait, AVB was quick to clarify the position of one of his defenders Steven Caulker.

“I’m extremely happy with him. He is 20-years-old and doing extremely well, coping with the best strikers in the world, Torres, Rooney, Van Persie,” AVB said.

The Portuguese boss also played down the significance of the Serbian police charging Caulker after the brawl at the end of the England Under-21s’ Euro 2013 play-off last month.

Dawson aint playing because he is too slow for AVB style of play, and Kabul is injured, the defence had Parker covering last season, and thats why Walker is making mistakes, get Kabul back, Scotty back to team up with Sandro, allowing walker to go up field knowing he has cover, thats when the defence will be sorted better than last season

is just me that see defoe needs 10 shots to get 1 goal, he is just greedy and wont pass if there are better options,Ade is the better player, a team player who scores goals but always looks for the assist as well, thats the part of defoes game that doesnt exist, bring Ade back ASAP,
