He suits tottenham as small club mentality who dont win trophies aint challenged for years and have small ground with tight chairman. If spurs wereb ambitious you wouldnt have defoe up top. He would be at everton or Sunderland.

Thank you for your feedback. I agree Hernandez is better, never said he wasn’t. He is the closest example out of the top 4 clubs of what Defoe provides though, and Ferguson wouldn’t have him as his main striker. That was the point. I agree, Hernandez is superior. However I do still think Defoe is one of the most natural finishers in the league and a good player. As for the stat you pulled up, it’s a good 1 but a load of those shots are probably long range efforts as Defoe tends to try them quite often, Hernandez hardly ever shoots from range.

sorry, but no way can you compare defoe with hernandez, the mexican is literally three times better. both are best used as impact subs, but for all the claims that defoe is a great finisher, the numbers simply don’t support that. defoe has 10 goals from 94 shots this season, that is an appalling conversion rate, 1 in 9.4, hernandez on the other hand has probably the best conversion rate in the league at 1 in 3.75, that is finishing. defoe is average at best and remains tottenham’s weak link

remembered a year or two back in january when torres moved to chelsea, and liverpool signed carrol, and spurs bid biiig money for some of europes top strikers at the time i remember them biding 36M or something like that for aguero , i say bring in cavani get him in and we will have a serious title challange
