Swansea City stopper Michel Vorm has explained why he’s happy to be Tottenham’s back up keeper ahead of his imminent White Hart Lane arrival, as reported by FourFourTwo.

The Dutch international, who represented Holland in the World Cup last summer, is set to put pen-to-paper on a permanent deal with Tottenham within the next couple of days.

And he insists he’s happy to play second-fiddle to Spurs’ French glovesman Hugo Lloris, who recently signed a number bumper contract at the club.

He said: “Every top club has two top goalkeepers in their squad.

“It suits the club’s philosophy that there is broad selection [of players]. Especially when we see that Tottenham is active in a lot of competitions.”

And he might even be forced to battle veteran stopper Brad Friedel for the No.2 jersey at Tottenham, after the 43-year-old signed a new one year deal last month.

Vorm made 89 Premier League appearances for Swansea since joining them from Utrecht in 2011.
