England youngster Andros Townsend is set for a bumper new deal at Tottenham after his impressive form so far this season, according to the Daily Mirror.

Townsend was man of the match for England on Friday night after putting in a fine display that resulted in a superb individual goal, his first for his country on debut.

The winger is currently one of the lowest paid players in the Tottenham first team, especially considering the massive wages they forked out this summer.

Gareth Bale’s departure was set to enhance Townsend’s playing time but Spurs splashed the cash on attacking stars including £26million Erik Lamela, £12million Christian Eriksen and £7million Nacer Chadli.

However Townsend has made the right wing his own after Aaron Lennon’s early season injury and is set to sign a new bumper deal, boosting the Tottenham wage bill even further as well as enhancing his own reputation which will again soar when he plays for England on Tuesday.
