Premier League.

The Scottish FA are still looking for a permanent successor as they face Luxembourg this week.

Billy Stark is set to take temporary charge of the side, but Jordan has admitted it would be a dream if he was considered for the role.

It is known that Jordan has been looking for work since he left White Hart Lane as part of Harry Redknapp’s backroom coaching staff.

When Scotland do eventually appoint a full time successor to Levein, the manager will have time to implement his ideas and philosophy, with their next game not being until February.

They only play one game that month, before playing Wales in the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers in March at Hampden Park.

Speaking to Sky Sports about the possibility of him being offered the job, Jordan said: “As a Scotsman you want it to be the Scotland job, as an Englishman you want it to be the England job, so that is something that I think most people strive for.

“If you ask me if I’d be interested in the job yes I am. I want to continue to be involved in football whether that is manager or something else. But time will tell, we’ll wait and see what happens.”

He would appear to be a popular potential appointment and Graeme Souness was happy to offer his support to Jordan for the role in an interview with Sky Sports.

“I think your man is Joe Jordan. He would be my choice if I was making the decision,” Souness said.

Former Scotland boss Alex McLeish also lauded his fellow countryman stating that, “Joe Jordan is a fantastic candidate”.
