Monaco are plotting a summer raid for Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The Russian-backed Ligue 1 giants splashed the cash last year in order to push for Champions League football in their first season back in France’s top tier.

Now they look like achieving their aim, yet more signings are expected.

With attacking areas having been addressed by the arrivals of Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez, strengthening at back is seen as a priority, with a new number one a top target.

Lloris has emerged on their hit-list, amid reports that the French international is considering leaving Spurs in search of top level European football despite having only joined them in an £8m deal during 2012.

Monaco can offer the Les Bleus star a massive contract and life in a glamorous part of the world, which may be enough to tempt him away from White Hart Lane.

The Mediterranean side are also looking at Victor Valdes of Barcelona, but Lloris is believed to be their main target.

Domestic rivals Paris Saint-Germain – who are bankrolled by Qatari owners – are another side looking at the Tottenham ‘keeper.
