Rennes chief admits club are braced for M’Vila exit
The French international future has been the subject of intense speculation throughout January with several Premier League clubs declaring their interest in acquiring his signature.
R’s boss Harry Redknapp was hoping to bring the 22-year-old the Loftus Road after capturing Marseille striker Loic Remy from under the noses of Newcastle last week, but his plans have been scuppered after Spurs entered the running along with Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg and Rubin Kazan.
The latter are now thought to be leading the chase for M’Vila with reports indicating he will sign a four-year deal with former Russian champions worth an estimated £3 million-per-year, in what will be a massive blow for Redknapp and White Hart Lane chief Andre Villas-Boas after he lost Sandro for the remainder of the season.
And Dreoss added further fuel to the fire by admitting that the defensive midfielder may have pulled on a Rennes shirt for the last time after starring in the 2-0 win over Bastia on Sunday, but refused to disclose his potential destination.
“There is a good chance that this is the last game Yann M’Vila will have played for Rennes,” he said.
