Once again, after much hype in the summer about Tottenham‘s new arrivals, coming at a cost of £110million in the wake of Gareth Bale’s departure to Real Madrid, the North London side find themselves in the battle for fourth spot in what is becoming an almost eternal scenario.

Last year, Spurs were beaten to Champions League qualification by just one point, surrendering fourth spot to local rivals Arsenal.

And the year previous, they finished in the top four, but Chelsea’s European crowning saw their place in the Champions League stripped from them. And who remembers lasagne gate? Where Tottenham were in the driving seat to claim fourth on the final day of the season, only for the team to suffer from a rare case of food poisoning.
