It remains to be seen just how much power Tottenham chief Daniel Levy will give to new manager Tim Sherwood this January.

The former Spurs midfielder has been relatively coy on the idea of new signings, and the tabloids believe the full strength of the White Hart Lane purse won’t be at the Lilywhites’ gaffers disposal.

But traditionally, in an issuance of confidence in their new appointments, Premier League chairmen tend to grant their managers the chance to bring about some change via the transfer market, suggesting at least some of the Lilywhites transfer kitty will be made available to Sherwood this January.
